ONAWA, Iowa ---- Byron Thelander of Thelander Heating & Cooling has earned certification from North American Technician Excellence as a service technician for air conditioning equipment and systems.  NATE is an independent, third-party organization that develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment by recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification.
  Thelander earned his certification by passing the stringent NATE exam.  The exam reflects a consensus industry opinion on what the average technician should know in order to effectively install and service air conditioning equipment and systems.
  The Onawa resident is the owner of Thelander Heating & Cooling.  He has 25 years of experience working with heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.

"Excellence" Test—Homeowners Benefit
Onawa, IA - What do you do if you’re a homeowner with a heating or cooling equipment problem but you don’t know a reliable, knowledgeable technician? Do you just pick someone randomly out of the phone book, or ask a friend who may not know more than you do? How do you know if the technician you pick really knows what they’re doing?

A national certification test has been developed, and is now being administered, to assure that technicians have the skills to do the job. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) offers these voluntary tests to technician in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. The independent, not-for-profit organization is supported by an unprecedented combination of technicians, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, utilities, and heating and cooling contractors.

Thelander Heating & Cooling of Onawa is proud to announce that one of its technicians, Steve Kiefer, passed the NATE Gas Furnace – Service Technician test on July 20, 2009. This certification benefits local homeowners by giving them an independent standard by which to select a knowledgeable technician to work on their home comfort system.
